| Review : Dancing Fish, Bangsar
BORED OF THE FEW SELECTIVE OF CUISINE FOR EVERY OCCASIONS AND EVENTS?Wanted to try something new? Something that is a local food of other Asian countries? Local food from BALI, Indonesia where you can get it here in Malaysia. Ever wonder how Indonesia food taste like if you never been to Indonesia? Or you are about to fly for a vacation to Bali and worrying about whether their local food suits you or your family? Clear all your worry and mind, as I am bringing you to Dancing Fish in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. It is a Malay-Indo cuisine. The taste couldn't be exact like their very own local food but this place is recommended. Throw a gathering/birthday/special day there. Dancing Fish is located in Bangsar Shopping Mall at the Level 3. Before the birthday dinner, i called up Dancing Fish for reservation and check-out their menu. They recommend Set Meals for 8-10 pax which is either SET C or D. And as for SET A and B, it is for 4-5pax. So, if you are bringing a small group of friends or family, SET A and B is the the choice for you. I chose SET D and it cost about RM569++. Not inclusive of Govt tax and service charge. This is the main entrance and upon reaching friendly waiter/waitress will greet you with a smile. They will assist you to the table. The view from my corner of the table. The environment is so relaxing with colourful batik wall. The setting is serene with the simplicity decor and spacious seating create a friendly eating environment. Aside from that, their service is stellar. Thumbs up! Here comes the food i ordered. Each of the food comes with 2 portions. And drinks are refillable only for Barley or Barley Lime. Emping Melinjo. A crunchy, bittersweet crackers made from crushed Melinjo nuts and it is served with a mild spicy aromatic Sambal Terasi. Which is the Indonesian Shrimp chili paste a.k.a our very own Sambal Belacan. Gulai Lamb Shank This one is a thumb-up Lamb Shank curry ever. Best to eat with rice. The gravy is appetizing and delicious. Terong Sambal. It is a grilled eggplant (terong) and topped with mildly spicy sambal and fried onions. Tasted spicy sweet with assam. Aromatic Yellow Rice/ Nasi Briyani They even serve White Fragrant Rice. Their signature dish. DANCING FISH with Sambal Terasi Kicap. Deep-fried tilapia served with their special sauce (finely chopped tomatoes, chili, and sweet soy sauce). Satay Ayam with Belimbing Ikan Masin. It is the appetizing chicken satay i ever had. The chicken satay is marinated and grilled. Served with mouth watering Belimbing (Starfruit) Ikan Masin Gulai Pucuk Paku. Fernleaf topped with fried anchovies and cooked with aromatic tumeric curry. Sambal Udang. XL sized fresh prawns are being deep fried and fried with their specially made sambal paste. Taufu Telur. Juicy smooth taufu telur being deep fried. Dessert: Lemon Grass jelly with Asam Balls.
